On behalf of New England Surf, we would like to thank all clubs and families for their flexibility over the past two weeks. We feel that we made the right decision to move the Copa Surf Youngers a week ahead for some better weather! – this is a key time for New England based teams to prepare for the Spring Season and competition was definitely beneficial for all teams in attendance.  Now, we take a closer look at the big results on each of the Platinum Brackets!

Boy’s Side:

U9 Age Group:

An absolutely epic bracket!  In the group stage we saw a dominant NEFC RDP Red side win all 3 games and score 22 goals!  Beating Boston Bolts All State in the process.  These two would then face off against each other in the final.  Going neck and neck the entire match.  We saw the opposite result as Boston Bolts All State came out victorious when it mattered most with a scoreline of 4-3!  Well done boys!

U10 Age Group:

Unfortunately no final matchup in this age group but it was a stacked 5 team Platinum Bracket!  There could only be one winner though as Boston Vigor FC Real Elite swept all teams aside.  Winning all 4 games and scoring 17 goals in the process.  They were a force to be reckoned with and cruised to top spot this weekend.  A stellar performance!

U11 Age Group:

Our first 2 bracket’s in the Platinum division!  3 teams in each bracket and what a weekend it was for these 6 teams.  4 teams advancing to the Semi-Finals: Red Devils FC, Legacy Soccer Club, NEFC Metro North and JAB CEN Bianco!  In the end it was Red Devils FC facing off against NEFC Metro North.  Ultimately Red Devils FC proved too strong winning 7-1 in the finals, capping off a 4-0 weekend!

U12 Age Group:

Another 5 team Platinum Bracket which saw some incredible matchups!  It was a battle between RI Surf Elite Blue and JAB West Bianco for top spot!  RI Surf put up a valiant effort but JAB West Bianco proved too strong in the end.  They were able to win 3/4 games which saw them take spot even with a -1 goal differential!  A true nail biter!

U13 Age Group:

Simply unplayable from RI Surf Elite.  Playing 4 games, winning 3 and drawing 1.  Scoring 8 goals in the process and not conceding all weekend!  They absolutely dominated the Platinum Bracket and have high hopes for this coming spring season after this display!  Well done boys!

U14 Age Group:

Our last age group could be the most exciting yet for the boys side!  6 teams, 2 brackets but only 1 winner.  In the group stage we had 4 teams end up with 4 points.  Which set the stage for the semi’s and finals!  However, it was CT Rush Select and CFC North ECNL advancing to the finals after cruising to victories in the semi-final matchups!  In the end, it was CFC North ECNL who came out victorious, putting in a classy display in the final which saw them win 4-1!

Girl’s Side:

U9 Age Group:

Another dominant display from a 4 team Platinum Bracket.  RI Surf Blue were simply too good.  Played 4 games (including the final), won all 4, scored 42 goals and conceded 3 all weekend.  They proved to be too good for the opposition and will have high hopes heading into the spring season!  Well done girls!

U10 Age Group:

A battle between the New England Surf Regions!  Metro South Navy and Metro West Navy battled it out for top spot where ultimately Metro South Navy came out victorious!  They played each other in the second round matchup where Metro South Navy came out victorious 3-0 and then momentum carried them through the remainder of the tournament.  Well done girls!

U11 Age Group:

Another battle for top spot in the group stage.  3 teams out of 5 all finishing with 6 points a piece: NE Surf Metro South Navy, Seacoast Elite Blue and JAB EDS North!  JAB EDS N missed out on the finals due to goal differential which left us with Seacoast vs NE Surf in the finals!  Ultimately Seacoast Elite Blue were too good in a narrow victory 2-1.  A great end to the weekend!

U12 Age Group:

A ferocious Platinum Bracket!  New England Surf Metro South Navy topped the group stage with 2W’s and 1D.  CFC Elite Pre-NL finishing 2nd with 2ws and 1L (coming against NE Surf Metro South Navy).  Next up the final where CFC Elite Pre-NL corrected their mistakes in the group stage matchup and came out victorious 3-0!  A great display from them!

U13 Age Group:

A battle between Surf!  New England Surf 2010 State Navy, RI Surf Elite and New England Surf 2011 State Navy all fought hard to be in the final.  Ultimately NE Surf 2010 State Navy proved too much for both of them, topping the group.  RI Surf and NE Surf 2011 State Navy battled it out for 2nd spot and it came down to goals scored as they were both tied for points and goal differential!  However, in the final RI Surf Elite came out strong and won the game convincingly 6-2!  Well done girls!

U14 Age Group:

Another Surf battle between RI Surf 2009 Elite and New England Surf 2009 State Navy!  Tying each other in the group stage set the final up between the two nicely!  Each with a point to prove.  Ultimately it was New England Surf 2009 State Navy who adapted to the needs of the game and came out victorious 2-0!  Capping off a great weekend for them!
