The Team

Our 2009 State Girls Navy have been nominated as the team of the week by our State Girls DOC, Darren Gallagher.  They have proved a force to be reckoned with all season and were finalists in Seacoast’s Ocean Cup over Columbus Day Weekend.

Most recently, they were victorious in this past Sunday’s matchup against NEFC North Shore 1-0.  They currently reside in 3rd place after that massive victory against NEFC NS.  That result put Surf  2 points ahead of them!  They are hoping that this victory keeps them rolling for the remainder of the season!

Their play style is simple, as said by their coach Jonny Bonner, “energetic and high pressing team that tries to win the ball in the opponent’s half and play forward quickly on the counter.”  It is certainly working for them so far as they sit in 3rd place in the league with 13 goals scored from 7 games played.  Keep up the great work!

The Coach

Jonny Bonner: Jonny is a top quality coach and has shown that consistently over the past year with New England Surf.  His stellar work ethic and passion for the game have also provided him with the opportunity to become our very own Performance Academy Director as well as our Assistant Girls Director.

Upcoming Fall

Our 2009 State Girls Navy side’s goals for the fall, as said by Jonny Bonner, “making sure the girls have the best possible experience on and off the field. Hoping to have some on field success along the way as well.”
