2011 Girls Metro South Navy: A Team to Lookout for this Season
The Team
Our 2011 Girls Metro South Navy are playing the U12 Pre-National League South in the NECSL. So far they have a slow start to the season but have just turned the corner in great style, coming out victorious against Juventus Academy Boston 4-1 this past Sunday. Their coach Rob Speed believes it was just the result to drive them forward for the remainder of the season.
Their style of play is one that mimics Liverpool FC. As said by Rob, “Direct and quick counter attacking play, a very well organized team. We like to get the ball into scoring range and utilize our fantastic wingers and strikers to run in behind the oppositions lines. A team with a lot of hustle and aggressiveness.” We are hoping this style turns into a positive experience for the players throughout the Fall season in the NECSL!
We are looking forward to seeing how this team performs in their upcoming Columbus Day Tournament. They were picked as the team to look out for going into Seacoast’s Ocean Cup. Click Here to find out more about the Columbus Day Tournament.
The Coach
Rob Speed: A new coach and DOC for New England Surf this year. That hasn’t stopped his region from dominating in the Surf Labor Day Classic before the Fall season. A supporter of Liverpool who likes to copy the way they play; on the front foot and pressing high up the field.
Upcoming Fall
The 2011 Girls Metro South Nay’s side goals for the fall are simple: “to improve on passing combinations, improve execution on playing in the final 3rd and finishing the chances we get” as stated by Rob Speed. All while having fun and playing a New England Surf style of soccer
